Sofia – Veliko Tarnovo – Varna – Sozopol – Plovdiv – Sofia
Day 1: Arrival in Sofia, transfer to hotel. Dinner and overnight in Sofia.
Day 2: Breakfast. Tour the main sights of Sofia – the quadrangle of tolerance, St. George, Presidency, administrative center, the National Theatre Ivan Vazov, the former Royal Palace, the Russian Church, Parliament, St. Sofia church-monument St. Alexander Nevski with a visit to the crypt, keep some of the most valuable Bulgarian icons and frescoes. Lunch in Boyana. Then visit the Boyana church – one of the cultural symbols of Bulgaria listed in 1979 as a cultural monument in the List of World Heritage by UNESCO. Departure for Veliko Tarnovo, accommodation and dinner.
Day 3: Breakfast. Tours of the town, visit the hill Tsarevets and Samovodska bazaar – ethnographic complex, preserving the authentic atmosphere of the city of XIX-century. Lunch at Arbanasi located 7 km. the old capital. Visit the church “Nativity”, which will see the impressive mural Circle of Life. Afternoon – visit to a winery Lyaskovets and tasting selected Bulgarian wines. Overnight in Veliko Tarnovo, dinner outside the hotel and by request visit the audio-visual program, Sound and Light.
Day 4: Breakfast. Departure to Veliki Preslav, the capital of the first country since the First Bulgarian Empire, the city has also established the first Bulgarian literary school. Departure for Shoumen, there is the monument “Founders of the Bulgarian state,” representing the most important moments of the history in Bulgaria VII to X century. Lunch in Shoumen and departure for Madara, where is the Madara Horseman, archaeological monument, representing the bas-relief carved in the rocks, 23 m height from the base of the cliff. It was declared a world heritage monument by UNESCO. The landscape is a triumphant ruler – a symbol of the power of the First Bulgarian Empire. Departure to Pliska – museum is located at the National historical-archaeological preserve “Pliska” and stores open in the old capital weapons, vessels, jewelry and other artifacts. Departure for Varna and accommodation in a hotel. Dinner at a fish restaurant.
Day 5: Breakfast. Tour of Varna with visits to the Cathedral “Assumption”, the Roman Baths and the Archaeological Museum. Lunch and departure to Nessebar. Tour of Old Town – there are about 42 churches, of which less than half were discovered by archaeologists and preserved, and is currently operating in only one. Others are more reserved converted into art galleries. Departure to Sozopol. Accommodation and dinner.
Day 6: Breakfast. Tour of Sozopol, the church “Saint John” and opportunity to tour boat. Departure for Plovdiv, lunch in Sliven. Arriving in Plovdiv and accommodation. Dinner.
Day 7: Breakfast. Tour of the Old Town, known for its outstanding examples of houses from the Renaissance period – Ethnographic Museum / Museum preserves more than 40,000 cultural values associated primarily with the tradition of the population in Plovdiv and its cultural and economic hinterland / Lamartine’s house, Roman Amphitheatre, Church of St. Constantine and Elena mosque. Lunch in the old town, from where can be seen magnificent views of Plvodiv and river of Maritsa. Then visit Bachkovo monastery from the 11th century, the second largest in Bulgaria, with original architecture and magnificent frescoes from the 17th century. Departure for Sofia. Accommodation and folklore dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 8: Breakfast and transfer to the airport.
