State reserve “Dunav” is located in the eastern part of the Danube plain, 330 km from Sofia airport and 200 km from Bourgas airport. The terrain is hilly and flat.
The main game species that inhabit the area of the farm are: red deer, roe deer, wild boar, rabbits, pheasants and partridges, wild ducks, allowed for hunting, wolf, jackal and fox. Hunting of wild ducks is highly depend on weather and it is successful only in combination of certain external factors such as low temperatures, fog, etc, so that is offered as supplementary to the main types of hunting deer and wild boar. Among the best trophies obtained here are those of deer – more than 10 kg. Score 250 points and a CIC of deer – 500 grams and wild boar – over 220 CIC points.
The farm has two hunting lodges – “Batakliata” and island “Batin”. Hunting lodge “Batakliata” has a dining hall, apartment with fireplace and 2 beds, apartment without a fireplace and 2 beds and 2 hunting bungalows with 2 beds. A 50 km from Ruse, in the waters of the Danube is situated Batin Island. Here was built one of the most luxurious hunting lodges in north-eastern Bulgaria, it has – a dining room with fireplace, bedroom with fireplace and double bed; and 5 rooms with 2 beds.
